Do you remember this dress? I wore it some months ago and finally decided to dust it off for another run. Its been a while now since I’ve begun investing in fewer articles of clothing and one of the main questions that I always ask myself is, how do I remix this piece without feeling like it’s a complete rerun? The answer to this question is the guiding factor on investing in a new piece for your wardrobe.
I take pride in dressing up a new item in my closet and normally that means that the first outing is going to be the BEST outing! Although, I’ve surprised myself with some of my remixes the majority of the time I always go back to that first outing as I am usually pleased/inspired with the outcome. Noticeable/statement pieces like this dress can sometimes be tricky because there is usually one really great way of wearing it. Also, it’s a dress so not many variations! I try to put sincere thought into my accessories because they make or break a look. I never want to wear too many things at once because I think they often take away from the look instead of adding to it. However, for this remix the holster/harness belt that I’ve only ever worn once before (here), felt like the perfect way to toughen up this ladylike ensemble. I swapped the heels for edgier sandals and popped my hair into a bun and viola ladies and gentlemen we have a new take on a favored piece. Which styling was your favorite?
