Happy Tuesday Y’all!

I’m super excited to share today’s outfit with you. First off, I love this dress it is really beautiful and fits my aesthetic very well. Secondly, whenever I find a shop that is black-owned where I can purchase quality pieces, I rejoice and do a happy-dance on sight. This dress is from such a company, FKSP which is named after the owner Folake Kuye whom I have long been a fan since her blogging days maybe 5/6 years ago. Those days now seem like ancient history as she is a bonafide Social Media Influencer and a successful entrepreneur. I could not be more proud as if the success were my own. About 6 months ago, there was some controversy around the clothing store Revolve and their lack of representation in their “Revolve Around The World” campaign. They essentially choose a group of bloggers and house them in beautiful locations around the world while the bloggers hang out and promote the clothing from their store. The issue was that there were no BLACK bloggers being represented or very few. I am always struck when I see a lack of diversity in the fashion world because the BLACK dollar is powerful. We spend more on luxury goods than any other group even Asians come in second to us, yet companies still feel the need to exempt us from their campaigns. To be honest, this doesn’t really bother me that much because I will only buy from places that I believe support me and those who look like me. I never shop at Revolve but I am happy to say that I proudly shop at FKSP.  As an entrepreneur myself, I know how hard it is to build a brand and to make quality products, and Folake is winning all around. Be sure to check out her online store and support. You can find the link below. Have a fabulous day!
