We are officially 18 days away from Christmas and guess who still has a laundry list of things to do, (yes, that would be me)! At least I can cross off getting a “party dress” from my list. Some of you will remember that I actually wore this dress last Holiday season; see here. This year I tasked myself with styling it differently; and while I think the first wear is typically best, I like the vibe and mood of this look.You should know this about me, but if you don’t I live for movies about old Hollywood Glamour and period pieces, think Pride and Prejudice. In many of these movies you often see that women owned one dress for very specific occasions. They would where it over and over again depending on the occasion. It dawned on me that we continuously buy new things and forget all about the beautiful pieces that we already own.
I want to change that a bit. After-all, you don’t invest in a Rolex to wear it only once, do you? Beautiful things should be word repeatedly because it shows how much you love the piece. Even if it’s photographed, there is no reason why you should not be able to wear that piece over and over again if you wish. I am going to see how long I can keep this up with this dress specifically. Look at it, get used to it, and hopefully you’ll look forward to how I style it next year; God’s willing!
