Ever imagine how you’re going to be when you get pregnant? Oh yeah, well so did I; except, things didn’t exactly work out that way. I thought I would be so excited to dress my bump and go all out. The reality of the situation was that all I did was sleep, work-out, read, and created/completed multiple DIY projects. If my family and friends did not come to my home to visit, they saw very little of me. With that in mind, I decided that I would make the effort to pull the old Alicia together and enjoy this moment to the fullest.
Being the control freak that I am (I work on this every day), I sent a detailed PowerPoint breakdown to my friends/family of exactly what I wanted for my shower. I had a really hard time letting go of the reigns (it’s just that when I have a vision in mind, I like to see it come to fruition down to the last place setting). Nevertheless, I had to let them do their thing because it was a LOT 🙂

I was thrilled with how everything turned out, and extremely happy that my friends and family had a great time. Fun Fact About Me: I hate baby games, I think they are really silly. If I had to guess why I hate them, it’s probably because an enormous amount of attention is lavished on the expectant mama and I shudder at the thought of being fussed over and made the center of attention (Thank You, but no, please don’t. I beg you). So I had a rule of No-Baby Games and it was the best decision ever. We had comedians come in and really enjoyed a grown-up party celebrating life and love. We ended at a reasonable hour and everyone went home with their bellies filled and their cheeks wet-stained from the joys of laughter.

Below is a recap of the event. Keep watching this space as I have so many photos to post so that we can get current! For now, it’s so fun going down memory lane with you all. As always enjoy…
