Choosing to be Happy!

Last week, one of my Coworkers sent me an awesome article in Cosmopolitan magazine entitled “Why I left a $95K Paying Job to Move to An Island and Scoop IceCream”. It was such a great read particularly because it highlighted some of the simple and truest pleasures of life. Happiness, true, deep, unadulterated, dizzying happiness. How do you achieve that? Well, true happiness holds a different meaning for each of us, the main key is to always remain true to one’s self and focus on what makes your soul happy.

I’ve been trying to live in my truth on a daily basis. I also try to work on daily goals that will bring me closer to my true happiness. Last night I needed some enrichment for my soul. The best way for me to get this is to listen to music. I started listening to some old songs that quickly did the job, the first of which was His Eye is on The Sparrow, the rendition performed by Lauryn Hill and Tanya Blount which you can find here followed by this little gem that I almost forgot about and so many others. Whenever I wonder why musicians make so much money compared to nurses or teachers, it’s for that very reason. The ability to change someone’s disposition and make them cheerful, sad, excited; simply to make them feel. Isn’t it funny how music can take us to wherever we need to go. Shameless plug for my era, but the 90’s and 2000’s were some of the best records/videos, remember when videos used to have a message like this one. I hope you use today to find your true happiness and continue to focus on that for the rest of the time that we’re here.

As for my outfit, well what can I say, I felt really happy on this day.
