Hey Guys,

Happy Friday! Sorry for the lack of posts yesterday, fatigue got in the way. I realize I have been slacking on finishing my wedding update series. I thought I’d pick up by sharing the inspirations behind my wedding outfits. My actual Wedding dress is notably missing from here, but will be featured in a separate post soon.

First up, the lovely Beyonce. I remember this red dress vividly, and it is around the time that I really fell in love with Queen B. To be fair, I have always loved Jay-Z more than B, and then I began to share my heart with her soon after they began dating. She wore this dress in 2003 for Jay’s 40/40 opening in the City. I was still in H.S. and I was completely in awe of how beautiful she looked. I instantly thought, that’s how you SHOW UP for your man. Newly in a relationship myself, I definitely felt like I would love to wear something like this for my man. Fast forward more than 10 years later and there I was doing it for him. When I brought this idea to my tailor, she thought it was unique because of the flaps in the front of the dress, I bought the fabric and sat through multiple iterations to ensure that it was exactly as I wanted. In the end I was really pleased with her workmanship on this dress. I wore this dress to our Welcome Dinner!

Second up, the beautiful Camilla Belle.
She is not a very well known actress, as she has had very little acting parts. However, her style and beauty tend to thrust her in the spotlight despite not being a famed actress. She wore this beautiful Ralph Lauren collection gown in 2012 to the Met Gala. At the time, she took my breath away. I just loved the old Hollywood Glamour and the effortless sensuality oozing from her look. I had every intention of getting my hair pinned and really pulling off the high-octane-glamour look, unfortunately, my stlist at the resort was not up to par, and so I had to go with Loose waves instead. I was still pleased with the overall effect. I wore this dress to our Rehearsal Dinner.

Lastly, the ever-graceful Naomi Watts.
I was surprised at amount of people who asked me where I got the idea for my dress. I even had people crediting me with being very unique. Unfortunately; I cannot take credit, this dress was stuck in my head when I say Naomi strut down the 2013 Oscar runway. I loved the neckline and I really appreciated the silhouette. There were two main things that I was looking for in my second wedding dress, one was for it to be completely different from my Wedding gown and two was for it to have some wow-factor. It also had to be different from the many “plunging” dress styles that I would already be wearing up to the actual day. I was smitten with the uniqueness of the neckline and the silhouette. I have to say that my designer did a great job with this dress. She even created a belt for it which I ended up not wearing. The boning was also never included into this dress because the fabric worked great without it. P.s. – I had my hair in a low chignon in the last look, but once the party commenced it fell down and I never bothered to put it back up.

Overall, I was pleased with all of my looks for the wedding, and I had a lot of fun working with my designer to create my vision.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
