Happy Saturday guys,
As I sit here unpacking my suitcase from last week’s Bachelorette Trip, (in preparation for my new destination) I am flooded with so many memories of what an amazing time I had. The destination for our trip was the ever beautiful backdrop of Costa Rica. Neither of us had been there before so it was the perfect setting for my last hooray before moving into a new phase of life; marriage-dom. From the moment we stepped foot at the airport it was non-stop laughter. The first round coming from this “light-up” sash that they made me wear on the airplane (I wish I could have gotten a pic of the lights). I swear folks I looked like a walking christmas tree, and it caught me so off guard. Nonetheless; it was beautiful in all its ridiculousness and its ability to grab people’s attention. Once we landed it was on from there. They had an array of trinkets for me to wear and hold on to as we snapped pictures, lounged by the pool, and ate to our hearts content. I could not have asked for anything better.
Friendships are such a beautiful thing and they are an integral part of my life. I don’t believe I’ve ever had more than a handful of close friends at any given time in my life; and that’s because I put a lot of work into maintaining them. There’s a huge trend these days to collect as many friends as possible on social networking sites such as Facebook, and Instagram. Sadly, with this cultural encouragement to amass people, you can miss the whole point. To Avy and Kam – I love you both and cherish our relationship. I am blessed to have both of you ladies as my very dear friends, and look froward to many more years together.
P.s. – It was a perfect harmonious coincidence that we were all matching at the airport that morning. I had no idea what the colors were going to be but I was excited at the revelation.
