UNIFORMED STYLING

Uniformed Styling - HOG

I talked about uniforms that we sometimes adapt in our personal styles. As I mentioned in my earlier post, I purchased this dress over a year ago in several different colors because I knew it would work well for summer outings. This particular styling/formula is a rather easy one. To be honest, it takes little effort and allows your shoes to do most of the talking. The dress is sort of a backdrop to the accessories. The only caveat is that I must stay in shape, and that doesn’t always go as it should. It can do me well to lay off of a few Haggen-Das ice cream bars, they have been my kryptonite as of late.

Other than the fitness issue, the real beauty about uniforms is that when properly selected they can help to hide any flaws you would rather hide. you’ve done the due diligence and now know that this dress code works to potentially capture your best self and you can just swap the article of clothing with different color options and prints. The last tidbit is that a one piece is always a better alternative. Why you may ask? Well that’s because it leaves only the shoes and accessories to be decided upon. Two pieces are great but they require a little more styling prowess.

What about you? What are some of the things that you often find yourself gravitating towards?

New Segment: STYLE TWIN

Bitch Stole My Look

Hey Guys,

Sorry for the lack of posts. The 4 day week totally threw me off schedule. However, since we have an additional day off work on Monday, let’s treat today as Friday and have a bit of a Flashback! I am introducing this new segment called STYLE TWIN. It’s really nice to take a look at how like minded Fashionista’s put their own personal style on a similar article of clothing. It happens quite often, especially with the new found transparency in discovering which designers bloggers and celebrities alike are wearing. The shop-able feature is a glorious thing.

This first one is a throwback because I wore this dress in 2014, and so did Kelly Kapowski, I mean Tiffany. I love her undo with this dress, it helps to showcase the neckline more. Tiffany kept the look simple with minimal accessories and simple black pumps. A great look overall. I, on the other hand really played up the accessories. I also added a belt to cinch the waist. Most of you know, that I love color so black pumps wouldn’t quite do. you can check out more photos of this look here.

Hey Guys,

Happy Friday! Sorry for the lack of posts yesterday, fatigue got in the way. I realize I have been slacking on finishing my wedding update series. I thought I’d pick up by sharing the inspirations behind my wedding outfits. My actual Wedding dress is notably missing from here, but will be featured in a separate post soon.

WIDE LEG

Flare leg trousers - hintofglamour

Wide-Legged trousers are in, and their catching on like wildfire! We saw a lot of them come down the Fall 2015 runways, along with over-sized coats. Take a look at celebrities Jessica Alba and Kim Kardashian wearing the trend below.

I wore a pair of Jonathan Saunder trousers in my earlier post today and they are so comfortable. I really like the brand, so I have included a few different options for your review. See the links here, here, and here respectively as seen in the first image above. Have fun shopping. Is this a trend that you will try this season?

P.s. – Who do you think styled the look better?
