Front and Back of the Save The Date Postcard

Hey Guys,

Let’s Talk Weddings! I think I mentioned this before and I suppose people say this all the time, but one of the best days of my life was my Wedding Day. The day was so chill, there was a tranquil atmosphere, and I was surrounded by my closest family and friends. Those things made it a success because they were the most important aspects to me besides the food, music, and photography. As such, I thought I’d begin sharing some of my discoveries leading up to the big day/highlighting a few shortcuts that made the day less stressful. Hopefully those discoveries might be helpful to a bride in training.

First though, let’s go back to the beginning, I’m talking “Save The Dates!”

There’s something you should know about me, whenever I need to research decorative ideas, my usual starting point is ETSY. I know that many people begin on Pinterest, but for me I find ETSY to be easier. The reason is pretty simple “It’s a one stop shop!” Not only can I find ideas but I can shop the ideas immediately. That to me is efficiency! In general, I hate wasting time, and I tend to push things to the last minute if it is not a priority. As such, I often wind up executing things when I’m down to the wire which makes Simplicity and Ease a must have. Don’t get me wrong Pinterest is still great for exploring ideas, but they lack the final execution when I’m ready to move forward.

Speaking of ideas, I was fortunate enough to have my husband come up with the idea for our Save The Dates. (it just dawned on me that STD is the acronym for Saves The Date, so I guess I’ll be spelling it out each time) I digress, since my husband was pretty set on the idea and I was in agreement my only job was to find someone to execute.

Here’s what I did

– I researched and contacted several shops on Etsy to explain my idea and garner quotes
– I received 3 quotes and different ways/mocks of executing my ideas
– I finally decided on A-La-Carte-Studio

She did a wonderful job of bringing my idea to life just the way I envisioned, and she had a quick turnaround time. I loved that there was an approval process for the samples and final imagery of the invite. Most importantly we were pleased with the workmanship and final results. Payment was super easy and affordable and the shipment was timely.

Discoveries from my Save The Date experience

 – If you’re having a destination Wedding, get them out 8-10 months prior to your wedding date (sooner if possible, but not necessary).
-If possible, please direct your guests to a specific Website/Central Hub where they can get all information concerning your wedding
– Have fun with it! Make it an enjoyable process and do something that really matches both of your personalities
– For friends/family/guests/slackers who go periods of time without checking their mail, feel free to send a follow-up evite which includes the digital version of your RSVP, after all this is the Digital Age.

I hope you all found this helpful. Look out for more insights coming soon. If there is anything specific you’d like to know, please leave it in the comment section.

Thanks for Stopping By!
